The black cat and the disembodied laugh

spiritual-encounters > Part 1 – My Encounters > Negative experiences > The black cat and the disembodied laugh

The event

Time:  Early morning
Date:  Early 1990s
Place:  My flat at Hernalser Gürtel 16/20, Vienna
(My flat was actually No. 21, but “No. 20” had been put on the door by mistake)

I was in my mid-30s. I was sleeping lightly. My black cat, Buka, was also asleep. Suddenly I heard a loud, male laugh. It was human-like but not exactly human, and it was unpleasant. I got up immediately and checked on the cat. I thought she might have been spooked by the laugh, but she appeared to be sleeping, as if she hadn’t heard anything. I took it, then, that only I had heard it it was a spiritual laugh.

The takeaway

As I say under “The momentary possession”, spirits can be in the same room with us, and we have no idea of their presence.

Background

None relevant. I could mention that Buka was named after the island of Buka.

Thoughts and theories

Black cats don’t consort with the devil, but rather, the devil consorts with them. Cats have a spiritual quality that makes them enigmatic and attractive, and if the devil has a favourite colour, it will be black.

The visiting entity wanted me to know it was in the room, although it had nothing to gain from that. Without the black cat, I doubt it would have bothered to visit me.

These simple thoughts and theories are based on my belief that it was a real laugh, spiritually audible.
