Place: One of the hills above Bad Sauerbrunn, Burgenland
I was 28 years old. I was hiking on a path up the hill. I suddenly became aware of crystal clear, spiritual water running in a downward flow in my spiritual chest. The event lasted around 10 seconds.

Spiritual water does exist, and it flows downwards, as our physical water does.
Background
It’s hard to give you a background. I would have to go back to that time and then come back to today, to bring back an explanation of why this happened. There is a background, a reason why it happened, but it’s kind of lengthy and not really simple. I was reading the books of Rudolf Steiner at that time. His words take the reader on a spiritual journey. I was on that journey. The way his words affected me might have wrought such a change in me that this event was provoked. (I realise this text might be better placed under Thoughts and theories.)
Thoughts and theories
I don’t know where the water came from. I don’t know where it flowed to. I suppose it came from the spirit world, and it went back to the spirit world. Or does it remain in us always, and we just don’t know about it?
We know that spiritual healing can come through the medium of water. We read that Christ healed the deaf-mute’s ears with saliva (which is water), and the blind man’s eyes with a mixture of dirt and saliva. We know of the healing water of Lourdes.
Was I healed on this occasion? I don’t think so; I didn’t have any disability that needed healing. Was I cleansed or purified? Perhaps, but I’m not aware of that, either.
I find references to spiritual water in the Bible. One reference is in John 7/38. Christ says, “Scripture has it: From within Him rivers of living water shall flow.”
I think it’s critical to drink water when fasting. For one thing, water hydrates you. For another thing, if you’re fasting for religious purposes, water cleanses. Think of it as being a purifying spiritual shower.
The location, Bad Sauerbrunn — can that have played a role? Bad Sauerbrunn has mineral water flowing in its hills. We read of holy spring water, of miraculous springs. Was this spiritual moment made possible by the presence of water in the hills?
